Paul Grilley
When analyzing the human body there are many things we could discuss. The Thirtieth Edition of Gray's Anatomy runs to nearly 1700 pages. And that is just a description of body parts. Textbooks on physiology easily go into the thousands of pages. But what is most immediately relevant to Hatha Yoga practitioners is “How does my body move?” or even more precisely “Why does my body not move the way I want it to?”

Yoga in the Gita and the Sutras with Professor Nagaraja Rao and Ashtanga and Pranayama practice with Paul (one of the modules for the 500 hour advanced training)
August 6 - 19, 2006

The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali are the key text on yoga explaining it very succinctly. The Bhagavad Gita is a complete text or teaching on yoga in the form of a conversation by the teacher ( Krishna ) to the bewildered student (Arjuna). The what and how of yoga can be unearthed by a study of these two classic works. This course will focus on the close correlations and teachings of both works. It should deepen your understanding of yoga and help in furthering practice. Additionally, the ashtanga practice will be ongoing and pranayama will continue as on previous courses to further students along in their practice or start any new students.
