Women's Yoga Weekend: Celebrating the Goddess at The Yoga Studio; Chiang Mai, Thailand with Sara Avant Stover, RYT 500
January 13-14
This weekend workshop will combine Anusara-Inspired Yoga, Yin Yoga, Insight Meditation, chanting and philosophy to inquire into the feminine path of yoga. Participants will learn to plalyfully and intuitively integrate breath, yoga posture, and heart feeling to strengthen the body, release constricting emotions, and ground the whole being in happiness. This is a time to deeply care for and nurture ourselves as women —physically, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally—and to begin or further develop a yoga practice we can take home and out into the world. Yin Yoga is the relaxed practice of floor postures for three to five minutes at a time. It is the ideal complement to more muscular or “Yang” forms of Yoga. A Yin practice emphasizes the connective tissues of the hips, thighs, pelvis and lower spine. In this way it prepares the body and the mind for longer meditation practices. By drawing the student’s awareness away from the muscles and deeper into the bones a deep level of relaxed focus is achieved.
