Shiva Rea is a leading teacher of transformational vinyasa flow yoga and yoga trance dance worldwide. She began exploring yoga at the age of fourteen as a way to understand her name, given to her by her father, a surfer and artist. Her studies in the Krishnamacharya lineage, tantra, ayurveda, bhakti, kalaripayattu, world dance, yogic art and somatic movement infused her approach to living yoga and embodying the flow.

Standing and Forward Bending Asanas
Saturday 12 April l 10:00am – 12:30pm
The standing asanas will cultivate stability and stamina, and will be used to develop skills in understanding and application of the techniques. The forward bends will be used to relieve tension from the nervous system and remove blockages to the flow of the water element in the body.
Twists, Inversions and Pranayama
Saturday 12 April l 2:00pm – 4:00pm
The twists will be used to relieve the spine before undertaking the practice of the inversions which will be used to prepare for the pranayama.
Standing and Back Bending Asanas
Sunday 13 April l 10:00am – 12:30pm
The standing asanas will form the foundation leading into the back bends. The back bend asanas will thoroughly explore the role and requirements of the leg actions.
Seated, Inversions and Lying Asanas in Preparation for Pranayama
Sunday 13 April l 2:00pm – 4:00pm
This class will look at the essential areas and understanding to establish a pranayama practice.
