Hasta Murda
By Swami Kali Ray
 |
Why do we have five fingers, five toes, and five senses? It is due to the maha Prana dividing itself five-fold upon entering this creation. The panca pranas are udana prana, prana prana, samana prana, vyana prana, and apana prana. These five pranas are represented with each of the five fingers. The way the fingers connect with one another have the potential to increase the prana flow in body/mind.

Build Your Knowledge, Build Your Practice with Dylan Berstein
Yoga Sutra Study Group
4th Oct - 22nd Nov, Thursdays, 12:45 - 2:45 pm
Pranayama Sadhana and Asana Alignment Workshop
9th Oct - 27th Nov, Tuesdays, 12:00 - 2:00 pm
Dylan Bernstein had the fortune to be introduced to Yoga and Zen meditation in 1988. Over the last twenty years, he has called upon the practice to engage the body, still the mind and study the soul. Lifelong interests in Asian philosophy, religion and poetry have brought him to live in various Asian countries since 2001. During a year in India, he encountered Vijay Amar, who introduced him to Ashtanga Yoga and trained him to teach. Since then, he has been lucky enough to study under some of the world's senior Ashtanga teachers. Dylan loves teaching at Yoga Elements because of the genuine interest of the students and the great feeling in the studio. In addition to dynamic led classes, Dylan truly enjoys being able to share more subtle elements of the practice.

Japan
Practical Applied Anatomy & Physiology of Yoga, with Simon Borg-Olivier
YogaSynergy is powerful dynamic traditional hatha yoga that is designed in sequence and form with an understanding from medical science and physiotherapy. The YogaSynergy sequences progresses students from simple (easy) to complex (hard) versions of each asana (static posture) and vinyasa (dynamic exercise) to develop a balance between your strength, flexibility and cardiovascular fitness. At the same time each sequence encourages your ability to stay relaxed and allow subtle energy to flow within you. Simon uses the Synergy style and his experience as physiotherapist and advanced yoga practitioner to guide you as to what you need to be able to do before safely progressing from a beginner to an advanced level in each exercise. Simon's unique method of teaching is effective yet safe as it only allows people to progress to a harder version of a posture when their levels of strength and flexibility are balanced.

YogaJaya 200hr Intensive Teacher Training. Level 1 and 2. (Yoga Alliance 200hr)
Level 1: February 9,10, 11, 16, 17, 23, 24, March 1, 2, 8, 9, 15, 16.
Level 2: October 12, 13, 18, 19, 25, 26, November 1, 2
All courses are conducted in English and Japanese with experienced interpreters for the duration of the course. Additionally the course manuals are translated into both languages. YogaJaya understands that work commitments prevent people from immersing themselves in a consecutive daily training course. So we have designed a course to both intensify the experience and economize the time that students are immersed in the curriculum agenda per week. The YogaJaya TT courses will take place over a total of 7 weeks. The teacher contact modules will be conducted on consecutive weekends and public holidays, with 7 to 9 hours of study each day. Additional class attendance and assignments will be issued to comprise the additional credit hours. What makes the YogaJaya TTs different from other Yoga teacher training programs is the emphasis on the transformation in each and every one of us toward attaining our complete potential in our lives outside the mere physical yoga practice. The courses are designed to stimulate and revolutionalise an individual's perceptions of yoga practice and how it connects to every aspect of growth. The facilitators that have been chosen for these courses have decades of accumulated experience as yoga practitioners, teachers, therapists and artists. YogaJaya and its vision have been recognized by some of the leading yoga organizations in the world, and continue to establish its open and diverse mission to clarify a profound but practical outlook on Yoga Lifestyle.
